Changing the password of an e-mail account

It is useful to occasionally change the passwords on your e-mail accounts to maximise your e-mail security. You should always change your password if you think someone else has access to your account.

Note: Make sure that you change the password in your offline e-mail application as well, or you will not be able to upload or download e-mail to this account.

To change the password of an e-mail account:

 

1. Type in your web browser yourdomain/webmail e.g eight28.com/webmail

2. Enter your full email address

3. Enter your password

4. To change your password click on the Change password icon

5. Enter new password

6. Then confirm new password

7. Click on Change Password button

 

If you do not know the password, you can only change it from within the cPanel:

1. Type in your web browser yourdomain/controlpanel e.g eight28.com/controlpane

2. Enter your username

3. Enter your password

4. Click on the Email Accounts icon on the homepage

5. Click the Change Password link next to the relevant email address

6. Type the new password

7. Type the password again

8. Click on Change Password button
