Setting Up Your Email on Your Smartphone or Tablet

Setting up your email on your smartphone or tablet is relatively straightforward.

Before following these instructions, you will need need to have set up an email address on the server.  To learn how to create email addresses on the server, CLICK HERE

You will also need the following:

  1. The email address (e.g. email@eight28.com)
  2. The password for that email address
  3. Email username - This is the same as the email address (e.g. email@eight28.com)
  4. Incoming mail server - This will always take the format of mail.domain, so if your domain is eight28.com, your mail server will be mail.eight28.com (ensure to put the 'dot' in the correct place to avoid errors)
  5. Outgoing mail server - This is exactly the same as the incoming mail server, above (ensure to put the 'dot' in the correct place to avoid errors)

Follow the settings on your smartphone or tablet to add an email account.  Although POP3 can be used, we recommend using IMAP for email on portable devices.

When prompted for the email address, username, password, incoming or outgoing server, simply enter the details as described above.

NB: You must ensure that any settings to connect using secure server (SSL) are disabled.  If this is enabled, your device may not be able to connect to download your mail.
